The Surrogacy Process: Embryo Implantation, Delivery, and Handing in

Once it is determined that the surrogate mother is eligible for embryo implantation, she should be affiliated to health care insurance, which may be a complementary health plan, prepaid or health policy that includes high quality pregnancy and childbirth services.

At the same time, the surrogate motherhood agreement between the contracting couple and the surrogate mother is signed, and it becomes a public deed in the notary.

A life insurance policy is also acquired with an insurer, where the contracting couple acts as the holder and the surrogate mother is the insured. As part of the compensation there is a monthly payment that the surrogate mother shall receive, to cover all the pregnancy-related expenses.

Further compensation shall be paid on the day of delivery, after the newborn is handed in.

The surrogate mother is accompanied and monitored throughout the entire process, from endometrial preparation, pregnancy, and two months after delivery, by a nurse who will follow up on her medication intake, accompany her to medical appointments and in each of the situations that arise with the surrogate mother.

Additionally, a report will be sent after each of the prenatal check-ups that the surrogate mother has with the doctor.
