The Surrogacy Process: Choosing the Right Surrogate

Our scope of service at Bioetica Derecho consists of three phases:

• Selection and recruitment of the surrogate mother.
• Accompaniment and monitoring of the surrogate mother.
• Surrogate motherhood legal process or by Notary.
• Selecting a suitable surrogate for your unique journey this entails a strict selection process that includes:

Interview Phase

In the first phase of our interaction with our intending parents and surrogates, we provide a general overview of the process and help you understand the roles of the intending parents and the surrogates and how their participation is essential to providing the best outcomes for all parties involved.

Background Checks
After the first filter has been passed, our intended parents meet the surrogates. We run through all the biological, personality, emotional, genetic requirements and criteria for your unique journey, and how each of these factors have been integrated into the selection process. At this point, the surrogate mother is introduced to the contracting couple in a face-to-face meeting so that they can meet and address all doubts and concerns regarding the process.

Drafting a Compensation Plan
After this introduction, the contracting couple submits a compensation proposal to the surrogate mother for her signature and acceptance.

Medical Evaluation and Screening
If the previous phases are successful, the surrogate mother is subject to medical and psychological examination to ensure the surrogate’s fitness for pregnancy and transfer of the child. The medical institution where the examinations take place is the same place where the contracting couple is conducting the assisted reproduction process.
